As mentioned above, Victorian style kitchens are full of decorative elements and ornaments. The first thing to consider is how to decorate the largest three spaces in the kitchen: the walls, ceiling and floor. Special furniture

In a normal kitchen, we store items in a kitchen cabinet, however, for Victorian style kitchens, we might put them on an antique dresser. You can find this style of dresser at antique stores. What make this furniture look unique is that it incorporates both a storage place and a place to display kitchen accessories. You can put plates, spoons, cookware and any items inside dresser drawers and at the same time put ornaments or even a flower arrangement in vase on the dresser.

How to Select Kitchen appliances for Victorian Style Kitchens

One of the challenges of Victorian kitchen decoration is how to camouflage modern appliances so they don’t destroy the Victorian style you are creating. In a real Victorian kitchen, they would have used an iron stove and wood as fuel. Of course, you don’t want to do that now! What you can do is select kitchen appliances that have decorative wood panels on their exterior. It’s the only one way to camouflage them. If you are willing to go to more trouble, you could buy a Victorian style stove made from iron and then modify it to use gas as its fuel, and not wood anymore.

Kitchen table

A classic Victorian table is made from sturdy wood, has a rectangle shape and legs with decorative carving on them. This table is a multifunction piece of furniture: used for preparing and serving food and to store items using drawers under table top surface. Usually this table is painted in white or brown. Some Victorian tables are of a large size, able to seat many people.

Window treatment

Decoration will not be complete without installing decorative valances on the kitchen window. This valance would usually have a floral pattern or pictures from the Victorian period. These valances are available in any colors, but it’s best not to select a vibrant color if you wish to reflect the atmosphere from the past.
So there you have it, some simple ideas for how you can get the look of those traditional Victorian style kitchens.
